[unpaid/sample] Specifically different nails for Christmas doesn’t seem quite so crucial as it once did – the chances are high that we will all spend Christmas day in jeans and jumpers rather than our full-on sequins and glam but that’s fine – better, in fact. But there is a bit of me that wants my nails to be the nod to the glam and the CND Cocktail Couture has a couple of shades in there that more than fit the bill.

She’s A Gem (right) is the main shade that caught my eye – an emerald shade with tons of silvery shimmer. How Merlot on the other side is the pinkest Merlot I’ve ever seen but does darken down with a second coat. Don’t for get with the Vinylux formula you need the special top coat to keep it lasting for several days (and it really does unless you go out chopping wood or similar!).

These two beauties, Bordeaux Babe and Devil Red are super glam – fiery and shiny. Bordeaux is the deeper of the two, whereas Devil Red is more fire engine red. They both went on very pink at the first coat and only became true reds at the second so you will need to double up.

I thought that Drama Queen (first one) looks like it has a shade shift in the bottle but paints out to a shimmer shot berry shade. Get The Gold is perhaps my least favourite for being just not very interesting. It’s a pale-ish gold so perhaps good for skin tones that can’t wear the really warm golds.
