So far this month, it’s been all about a subtle, natural glow, mauve lips and… stepping a bit outside my comfort zone with shimmery, metallic eyeshadows. I have a lot of love for matte finishes, especially in the eyeshadow department, but I have to say that I now have a newfound appreciation for pretty shimmers.
When thinking of a subtle, all-over glow, one of the first products that come to my mind is Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid. It’s perfect for adding that sheer, delicate glow to your base. I love mixing this with my foundation, sometimes I’ll just mix it in with a moisturizer or Chanel’s Vitalumière which is an ultra lightweight and sheer foundation- it’s a perfect combo for that natural, healthy glow and minimal coverage look. The packaging is beautiful, but it does make it a nightmare to get any product out once you start running low.
Chanel D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in New Moon (97)– my love for cream shadows continues. New Moon is a gorgeous mauve with copper shimmer and a very soft, creamy texture. I apply it with a brush for a more delicate and subtle look or use my finger to get more color payoff.
Another new makeup bag addition from Chanel: Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Lipstick in Modern (102). This is a creamy, intense matte with a non-drying, velvety formula. The formula is what I always love most about Chanel lipsticks. On me, Modern is a nude beige with a hint of mauve.
Glossier Generation Z lipstick in Cake– one of my all-time “everyday” favorite lip products. It wears very comfortably, has a very natural, sheer formula and a matte finish. Cake is a nude/peach with warm undertones.
Benefit Cosmetics Blush in Dallas. This is my kind of blush! Sort of a mix of rose and bronze that’s definitely on the sheer side. I’m not a huge fan of overly pigmented blushes as I like to keep it on the natural side when it comes to blush, so this one is perfect for me. It’s great for adding just a bit of color to the complexion- it’s like a blush and bronzer in one.
Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette. This little palette is one of my most-loved products at the moment. It’s simple but still versatile, easy to work with and great for daytime use.
Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balm. Lip care is one beauty department I never tire of exploring. I bought a whole bunch of these on Amazon and they are seriously amazing, definitely among some of the best lip balms I’ve tried. It’s just a simple lip balm that isn’t thick, doesn’t leave residue and doesn’t need to be constantly re-applied.
Natasha Denona All Over Glow Face & Body Shimmer Powder in Light. One of my favorite highlighting powders. It’s not over the top and gives the most beautiful, soft and natural glow.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eyeshadow Palette– this isn’t a palette I would normally reach for, simply because it has so many metallic/shimmer shades. BUT I got this as a gift and quickly fell in love with it. The shadows are soft and creamy and I love that the palette is on the cool-toned side. Dystopian is the only shade I had some trouble with- it wasn’t as smooth as others and was a bit on the chalky side- other than that this is a really beautiful and a fun palette to work with.
RMS Champagne Rosé Luminizer– ahhh yes, another favorite highlighter. This blush/champagne luminizer has a gorgeous, luminous, dewy finish with just a hint of pink color. It looks really lovely on the skin and doesn’t accentuate pores or dry skin like some powder highlighters tend to do.
